This page is dedicated to DUC.

'Duc' was our first Great Dane. And simply put, HE WAS THE BEST. We adopted him from the SPCA in Cannes/France in spring of 1989. He was just a puppy then but huge! When we shipped Duc to Texas later in the year the shipper had to build a special cage for Duc because he was so big. He was only 3 1/2 years old when he died in his sleep but he had lived his live to the fullest. There are so many Duc-stories, they would fill many books.

I am eternally grateful to Duc; I owe him my life. My hand got tangled in my horse's lead rope and Hajia dragged me. Duc stopped him. After this incident Duc never trusted Hajia again. Whenever I rode  Duc accompanied us.

To pay our dept to Duc we made it our task to help Great Danes in need. Freyja and Bella are rescues.

Origin

Great Danes are despite of their name of German Origin. They were supposed to be bred for boar hunting but anybody who knows Great Danes will doubt that. They are very peaceful dogs that love other animals. Duc was friends with our LaMancha Goat Nanette.
